Greta Belted Water Resistant Twill Trench Coat

I was intimidated by all the complaints that it runs large, yet intrigued by the photo, so I WROTE TO THE COMPANY FOR SIZE ADVICE with my measurements (yes, you can do that, my friends, and 99 times out of 100, you will wind up with a PERFECT FIT). You can thank me later, but before you go rushing over to hit up poor Katy at this particular designer, I hate to say it, but—she’s that 1 out of 100 that doesn’t know what she’s doing. She recommended that I buy a size that was five inches too large around the waist, could not tell the difference between cms and inches…. Still, there’s a good tip for you that otherwise works. Now on to the Greta. I didn’t like it. The color was nice, not too yellow, a true neutral, and the buttons were ok, not luxurious, but not cheap-looking, either. However, the material was not so gorgeous for the price point. It did not relax into nice proportions when belted, but stuck out awkwardly and had to be arranged against its will. This was the main sticking point for me; it did not live up to its cost. The sleeves were disproportionate, but that would not have deterred me, as my arms are slightly short and I’m a stickler for that sort of thing, so I’m always having to get the sleeves of things tailored. I returned it.
