Camilla Waterproof Trench Coat

This trench provides the perfect layer. Brought it to Europe for the occasional shower, felt it offered nice coverage from water and cold. It held its shape despite not always being properly hung up. Prior to my trip I did have the sleeves hemmed to ensure customized fit (5’6”, 155#) otherwise it would have appeared too large. Didn’t mind the extra space throughout as it allows for layers followed by a nice waist cinch with the belt.

Looks great, fits great. Fabricated with high quality waterproof material. So many of the trench coats are only water repellent, or not even that. Deep generous pockets with snaps, and one interior zip pocket at chest. Another snap at back vent for windy rainy weather. Finely crafted. So happy to pick this up in the sale! Will have this for many years to come. I purchased the US size 8. It's very generously cut, so sweaters will fit comfortably underneath this autumn. I probably could have sized down, but I like my outerwear roomy for layering purposes. Goes past my knees, it's just above mid-calf length for me. I love it! Looking forward to the next rainstorm.

This is a beautiful trenchcoat, but there are definitely some things to consider… I am typically a size 6 S/M and purchased my true size which I found to be quite large. I possibly could have sized down to a four, which is not a size I have worn in many years. With that said there are some benefits to having a little extra room, as you don’t want a trench to fit too tightly. You could definitely get a thick sweater on underneath. I was also slightly disappointed with the pocket situation. The exterior patch pockets leave your hands awkwardly, searching for something to slip into. I’m not sure that it’s a dealbreaker for me, but if this jacket was full price, I definitely would not be keeping it.

Unlike my other 2 Barbour coats, this one has an outer patch pocket only. While trying it on, my hands kept reflexively trying to slide into a side pocket. However, I didn’t read the description carefully enough, because only patch pockets are mentioned. The lack of a comfortable side pocket is a deal breaker for me. I sent it back. Agree with others that it runs large.

I am glad I found this in store, as I wouldn’t have purchased this online by looking at the photos. I love the single breasted style, almost returned it due to the noise the coat makes when the sleeves rub on the body but decided to keep it and use it the next day, I am glad I didn’t as I don’t even notice it now when out and about. The quality feels amazing, the length is great, falls right below the knees, I am 5’3”. 135lbs and I purchased size 4.
