Disappointing Quality
I bought this jacket for my husband because I thought it was lightweight, warm, and suitable for traveling. We just came back from a trip to Japan, and it did provide warmth and was easy to pack and carry. However, the quality is extremely poor.
My husband only wore this jacket a few times. Because he often carries a backpack, the logo on the backpack actually scratched the fabric and caused pilling. He has been using this same backpack for over two years and has frequently traveled with it, and none of his other jackets have ever had this issue.
Arc’teryx is a brand known for promoting durability, so this is incredibly disappointing. The quality is absolutely not worth the price, and I hope the company sees this feedback and makes improvements.

Fantastic Jacket for what I wanted it for.
Fantastic Jacket. Use with a mid weight fleece underneath for walking or hiking with my dog down to -15C. So warm and light with no sweating. If it’s snowing, I throw my Beta AR Shell over it to cut out wind and snow. Three layers and still room to move. Perfect for travelling as it slips into a pack so well with all my other gear. Absolutely recommend for a daily jacket as well. Function, style and quality is awesome.

Absolute favorite jacket
Absolute favorite piece of kit, this is an addition to my previous 2020 Atom, which has been worn most of 3 seasons over the years, sometimes paired with a Squamish hoody for extra warmth and flexibility. I much preferred the old style zippers but that may be a personal preference. Have used the new 2026 version for a few months now, and it’s even better in every other way. Thank you Arcteryx for dependable adventure companions that retain the memories of our travels.

If I only could have one Arc product, it'd be this
Perfect all rounder. My most versatile and capable layer. I'm constantly getting caught out in rain and wind and it's never phased. I love the synthetic insulation, weight and feel. Plus the finishing fabric is solid. It's cosy, warm and comfortable. I use it across all season and activities. Perfect to throw on in the morning, no matter what the day throws at you. I'll wear it on a cold run, under my ski shell, and also to dinner. The fit and breathability are perfect. I love being able to wear it for medium output, starting cold, and not overheat. It's predictable and consistent.
