I got a sample card of this foundation after purchasing several beauty items from the Anniversary sale. Usually sample cards never contain a shade light enough for me, but I tried the lightest of the four, shade 2.5. Armani’s website calls this shade fair neutral, Nordstrom’s calls it fair warm. It went on like a gel, similar in feeling to the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Gel, but less gooey and with better, more controlled coverage. I expected extremely sheer coverage, but it actually built very decent coverage when applied with fingers only. It looked a little too peachy for fair neutral, Nordstrom’s description of fair warm (or peach) is closer to reality, but it actually blended almost perfectly onto my fair, redhead skin. Almost perfect. Again, I had no experience with this product, and probably never would have had I not received it as a sample, so I checked Armani’s website to where 2.5 fell in the color scheme. Again, they describe 2.5 as fair neutral and 2.0 as fair peach, so I was going to stick with 2.5. But online pix of 2.0 and 2.5 are very similar, and Nordstrom’s descriptions seem more accurate and show a model with each shade, Armani’s does not. The model on Nordstrom’s site for 2.0 is a fair redhead, while the model for 2.5 is Asian, so more difficult to see myself in it if I didn’t have the sample in hand. So this is moisturizing, has a slight glow, has buildable coverage, can be applied perfectly with just fingers, and unlike the notorious Luminous Silk, has absolutely no fragrance. I just described my dream HG foundation! I am definitely going to purchase this, I would just like to compare 2.0 and 2.5 before I do. Please make a concealer and primer for this one Armani. Luminous Silk has a millennial competitor with modern properties like no fragrance and a gel like texture that you can apply without a mirror. I wore it with my Bobbi Brown corrector in light bisque and concealer in warm ivory. Both of those cod crack a little under the eyes recently, and matching products with similar consistency will probably become top sellers, as I predict this foundation will when Luminous Silk fans get to compare the two. Haven’t been this excited about a foundation, ever! Thank you Nordstrom’s for putting it in with my order. The other foundation sample card received with that order was Beauty Blender’s new foundation, and the lightest shade on the card was obviously too dark for me. Can’t wait to get to a store and purchase the best shade for me. If all the shades have some forgiveness, then it should be no problem for any skin tone to find a match in this one. They even have a white one in this formulation that can be used to lighten a shade or use as a highlighter. There also appear to be liquid bronzer, contour and blush shades available in lipgloss type tubes for this line, so deepening a shade should be possible too. Haven’t tried those, but if the consistency is similar, then this may become a one stop shop for products that travel well and work together to create a whole face. Kudos Armani!
