A Line Chiffon Halter Neck Evening Gown

First the good. The fabric, lining and construction was the best of five dresses I’ve tried on for a formal event. And the drape is beautiful. If you’re very petite, then this might be a challenging fit. It didn’t work for my 5’0” 138 LB petite frame. I’m a size 8P in most dresses. I tried the size 8 in hopes it would just need some alterations to shorten. It’s tight in the umpire band. I couldn’t get the zipper past the bra line with help - literally about a 1/2” too tight and I’m a 36B. Even if I could get the zipper up, the top of the dress was too big in the chest and arm holes. Sadly it had to go back.

This dress is absolutely iconic. It flows beautifully as you move, is super high quality, and the blush color/pleats are very on-trend. I appreciated the way it clearly defined my waist and the elegance of the high neck. It didn't have weird stones or flash; it was just the perfect amount of classiness for my daughter's wedding. For size reference, I have a straight figure, weigh around 130 and got the size 4. I am 5.9" and could not wear a heel because it was the perfect length. It just grazed my toes. One more thing: it is polyester and says it cannot be washed or dry cleaned, but I did use Dawn to get a tiny stain off, and it was fine. No water stain, etc.

I must have ordered at least 6 dresses from Nordstrom and several from other sites. This was the winner! It is very light and comfortable and fits well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the length is very long. I am 5'4" and need to get a few inches off even with heels. I recommend this dress though. The rest fits perfectly, I ordered a size 2 and around 112 lbs. Worth it!

I have been ordering/trying on mother of groom dresses for summer wedding. I am 5’9” and I normally wear sizes 8 (some 10) in pants & Large in any fitted tops. I’m not large in bust, broader in rib area, wide shoulders, & waist is smaller than shoulders & hips. I started ordering size 12 for dresses of various brands & that seems to be mostly right. I wanted this to be THE one. I love the look & color. The blush IS true color from photos & perfect for my complexion. It would be perfect color for me and the wedding. I didn’t keep because it would need underarm alterations (too big) & hem alterations. I also worried about getting too overheated with fabric constantly around neck.
