What it is: A retinoid serum that fights the signs of aging and improves the look of congested and UV-damaged skin.
What it does: This serum combines 5% retinoid ester blend, 1% liposomal-encapsulated retinol blend and 0.5% blue green algae with retinoid-alternative activity. Encapsulated CoQ10 helps to improve the appearance of aging or damaged skin, while Hawaiian white honey, bisabolol, cactus extract and ginger balance and soothe the skin for a calmer, more even-toned complexion.
How to use: Apply 1 to 2 pumps in the evening to clean to dry skin. New retinoid users should use two days on, two days off. Work your way up to every other day, then to daily evening use. Advanced retinoid users should use daily in the evenings. Follow with a hydrating oil or moisturizer. Use an AHA serum on alternate nights to sweep away dead skin cells. For sensitive skin, apply a few drops of a gentle, hydrating oil to your skin before applying the serum.

This stuff is amazing and great for sensitive skin. In less than 2 months, it has all but gotten rid of the lines between my brows that I was contemplating getting Botox for. No need now! The bottle lasts a while.

Horrible Scent
How come no one mentioned in their review how awful this cream smells? It smells like I’ve wiped a moldy towel across my face. It’s horrible. I can’t even attest to how well it works because I can’t get past the scent. I literally had to wash it off my face, it smelled that bad, and I didn’t want my pillow smelling like it. Returning.

Better than a prescription retinoid
I was on a prescription retinoid for hormonal acne (in my freaking 30's) that was costing exponentially more and making my skin peel. I switched to this and am so much happier. I use it every other day, alternating with SR Good Genes and am really happy with the results. Like with most retinoids, there is a "purging" period for about 2 weeks where I broke out like there was no tomorrow but it cleared up within the month. I can see a difference in my skin tone and overall texture as well as way less frequent flare ups. Definitely use a sunscreen while you're using this - it does make skin slightly more sensitive but not as bad as the prescription ones.

I don’t have sensitive skin and I’m not new to retinol products. Wanted to try something different and more potent than my usual Murad retinol product. This product works well (w/ instant results)... you’ll notice improved skin texture night after waking up in the morning. Only minus I see is the odor; not pleasant but tolerable given its just the ingredients in the product that makes it so. I can tolerate it since the product is effective. Also, noticed some improvement to the pore size... would highly recommend this product. I use it daily at night with no issues.

Love this effective retinoid serum as it works well. My only complaints about Sunday Riley products are they do not give you much volume for the prices you pay and the bottles themselves do not give indicate the directions to use...you have to keep the outside box if you wan to refer back to them!

I’ve only done one or two skin care product reviews, so this is fairly new to me, but I’m pretty floored after just two uses of this Serum. This is the first Sunday Riley product I’ve purchased and I’m so glad I did. I highly recommend if your skin is both sensitive and requires frequent gentle exfoliation like mine does in the T-zone — plus showing signs of aging. I’ve never seen such a dramatic response in a skin care product as this. Will buy again!
