Worst boat shoe I have tried
I’m a fan of Sperry and Timberland boat shoes, including the ones with chunkier platform soles. I thought I’d order this higher Maje version but this failed at every level. Leather is thinner but stiffer than every boat shoe I’ve ever tried on. The knotted ends of the stitching in contact my insteps were scratchy and plasticky. I thought of using a lighter to smooth them out but figured the whole knot could melt and the stitching would come loose. Overall, this shoe was inferior to other boat shoes and certainly isn’t worth paying 3-4 times more. Returning unworn in favor of a similar Timberland style, which I already have in dark blue and were comfortable straight out of the box.
