Basque Slide Sandal (Women)

I’ve been looking for a pair of soft leather, comfortable slides for a few years now. I’ve tried several pairs, but unfortunately, they’ve all been too stiff and had to be returned. When I saw these Penelope Chilvers slides, I thought I’d give them a shot. They were cute no doubt, but could they live up to the description of being soft and comfortable. When they arrived I slid them on and immediately was concerned with how firm the leather felt. But I was in need of slides that weekend and thought “let me take a chance and see if they get more comfortable with use”. To my delight, they were extremely comfortable. I was so happy (and relieved) to have finally found a beautiful pair of leather slides. They do squeak a little when walking because the leather is oiled but I anticipate that will go away after a few wears. I now imagine myself Summering in Spain while attending baby showers and graduation parties in California. :)

I reallllyyyy love these. But the top leather is SO HARD and a little too big/bulky. They’re so well crafted and the bottom is perfect and cushy. But I’m positive I’ll get blisters all over the top of my feet if I keep these. I know the other reviewer said they’d get better in time, but I don’t want to deal with blisters to get there. Bummed.
