Ankle boots with notched sole

Love these boots a whole lot. They are the style I've been looking for. They leave no gap in the shaft of the shoes with is nice because you can wear it with short skirt, inside jeans, or rolled up pants. However I find the FR size to run smaller than EU. I'm a 8.US/39EU so I decided to do a 40 FR since a 39FR was not available. However, putting it on was a struggle. I needed a boot stick to help me slide my foot through shaft. Once inside, my toe was up close to the front. I can't wear socks with these boots. I was expecting to have room for think socks given that the 40 FR is larger than my usual size, but nope. I def recommend to size up especially if you're on to use socks thicker than pantyhose.

Thanks to another reviewer I bought these shoes because they noted that the shaft fits very close to the leg - they were not wrong. There is no space between my leg and the shoe once on and I love that!!! It gives a sleek silhouette but is not too tight or uncomfortable. I use the pull in the back to get them fully on and as a size 10 shoe, is is imperative to order a 41 in European sizing. I don't know why US websites list a size 40 as a 10, it is not. They are also a bit narrow. I don't normally wear a wide shoe and I do not consider these shoes narrow but they are slightly smaller than most US shoes, so if your feet get swollen, they might not be a great fit. Initially, they are a bit stiff, the bottom is not naturally flexible and I can see I will need to wear these in, and they do have the wider welt piece around the shoe, so it does take away a bit of the "sleek" look but in return it has a very cool French rocker gothy fashion vibe and I love them. I think they will wear in well. The gold at front gives it some glam. The leather is nice and I think will wear in well too.
