The delivery was perfect. I have a pair of Mephisto sandals that are incredibly comfortable and light, and I have looked at various Mephisto shoes in retail stores which were also light. These shoes I feel are much too heavy. My fault as I did not catch it before I ordered. They are very comfortable to stand in, but after wearing them four times and walking about six miles total, they are not comfortable to walk in. I hope they will eventually break in. I asked Mephisto for an exchange, but as I had walked outside with them they declined my request. I am 6’, 200 lbs, size 12, and want to be able to walk in the city up to 5 miles per day. These shoes will I expect hold up, but just not comfortable to walk in, and heavy. Size was perfect, fit well, workmanship seems great, just clunky to walk in.

I have owned Mephisto’s for 3 decades - casual and dress shoes. I used to love them, but the quality has changed. The last two pairs I bought were to be used for urban walking. We were visiting cities and I wanted a comfortable shoe that would look good in a city - not a pair of sneakers. I like the look of this pair. Here are my issues with both pairs - they squeak / make noise when walking and have worn out much quicker than expected. I will send them for your re-furbishment as I like their look, but I have become surprised and disappointed. I have a pair of dress wing tips that I bought over ten years ago that I love and are what I have known Mephisto’s to be - solid, comfortable durable. Something has changed. Maybe you have different levels of quality - that would make sense.

At this price, the leather could be a bit more supple and forgiving, but after a few hours of wear the shoes are nicely broken in. They wear very comfortably after a few days. The outsoles are supportive and the insoles are nicely cushioned. I like the clean, simple style of this shoe, with minimal stitching. I haven't polished them yet but I suspect they will shine nicely with a little Saphir. Overall, they are wonderful shoes and I would highly recommend.

The shoes are great. The order was cumbersome, though. Initially they didn't arrive after 2 weeks. So I had to claim a refund and reorder. Then the shoes arrived -- but from the original order! I was billed again -- but recovered the second set of shoes and returned them to the store and promptly received the second refund. I usually wear a size 8-1/2. These were designated as 7-1/2 to 8 -- but they fit right.

Nordstrom sent me in the box two different shoes. One was black the other brown. One with laces the other a slip on. What kind of an idiot packs your stuff? I had to drive to a Nordstrom store to return it in person because I don't trust Nordstrom to process the return property. I will NEVER order anything from you again.
