Wooden Toy Chest

This is a nice looking toy chest. My wife and I have been fans of Melissa and Doug toys for years. And we have always been impressed with the quality and modern old fashioned feel of their products. This toy chest was our first disappointment, as it is designed to be like a bench seat, but unable to actually support much weight on the lid. Trying to be good first-time parents, we don't allow our two-year old to climb or stand on the lid, as our daughter won't be 30 lbs forever. But my imagination goes to the near future when she might have cousins or friends over, who may want to climb, stand, or jump on the box; notwithstanding weary grandparents, aunts, or uncles looking for a bench to sit on... I made that mistake on day one, but caught myself before any damage was done as the seat bowed dangerously beneath my weight. All that being said, we've found this is still the best wooden toy box for the price - just don't sit on the bench.
