Perfect!
I've been looking for the perfect pair of boots for a while now to replace some Etienne Aigner riding boots I've had for 7 years. I wanted something that was a nice combination of rugged and sleek, and for me, these fit the bill perfectly! I was worried about what size to order, since some reviewers found them to be too big or too small. I ordered my normal size 8.5, and they fit perfectly. I am 5'8", and they come all the way up to my knees, which I love. The leather is very soft and supple, but I wore them out recently with bare legs, and had no problems with them slouching too much or falling down. They are distressed, but it's not over-the-top, and I love the worn in look. They are very comfortable, and I look forward to wearing these for a long time!

Teak glaze came off
I wore the boot one time to a dinner and the glaze came off in several places. It was a beautiful bout but I'm so sad they couldn't make it through a dinner. I will be returning them this week

Teak glaze came off

Just okay
I love the color and look of the leather on these boots. I found the fit to be too narrow and if you have athletic calve, don't be fooled into thinking these will work because of the laces on the top of the boot shaft. The laces go through holes that are punched in the leather; I'd be worried that sooner or later, the leather would rip. Nice boots but they didn't work for me. The fit wasn't as comfortable as the Bristol style.

Love!
Love these boots so much that I bought a second pair! I have black lux & black hand wash and plan on getting the two other colors! Perfect length and go with everything! These are made really big though, so I would go down a size. I ordered an 8 1/2 but could have gotten a 7 1/2

Just received these boots. First I must say I absolutely love the smell of these real handcrafted leather boots. I know other reviews have remarked about the scent. . .it's not a bother and very faint. They are really well made, you can see the hand craftsmanship in every detail. In the picture they appear to have a stiff shaft but they are actually really soft leather with no lining so they are able to slouch down easily which I love. They do run large as I had ordered an 8 (i wear 7.5-8) and my heel is sliding up and down when I walk even with socks on. Will return for smaller size for certain. There is nothing I dont like about these boots!

Not for Wide Calfs
I have been searching for a pair of fabulous wide calf riding style boots. I searched the Nordstrom website, specifically including wide calf in the search and these boots came up. I was so excited because they are gorgeous and ordered them immediately. I truly neglected to read the details where it states that the calf measurement is 13" and that is not wide calf. I think because they lace up in the back Nordstrom has placed them in this catergory. Upon arrival the boots were beautiful in the black and I loved the detail of the red stitching. However, they would not even pull over my calf despite the lacing in the back and my calf is large but not huge. I was so sad to send them back.
