What it does: Able to handle soups without scorching, sear meats perfectly, bake bread and more, this is the kitchen workhorse you'll find yourself reaching for again and again.

Additional features: The light-colored smooth interior enamel allows easy monitoring of cooking progress, while the tight-fitting lid is specially designed to circulate steam and return moisture back to food. The stainless steel knob is safe at any oven temperature.

The Perfect Dutch Oven

What is not to like about the Le Creuset dutch oven? First of all it's gorgeous (I purchased red), but it also cooks beautifully! The first dish I tried in it was a beef stew with a wine sauce. The meat braised perfectly, and to be able to go from stove top to oven is such a time saver (not to mention less dishes!). When it was taken out of the oven, we had the most tender and delicious stew that I had ever made. This dutch oven made all the difference. At first I was hesitant to buy the 5.5 quart size, but am so glad I got the larger size. Do not hesitate to splurge on this one, you will not regret it!

Color NOT Accurate

Color was nothing like the pictures. The shallot was barely purple, more grey than anything. Had to return, and had to pay for shipping!

Love Love Love

I do not like cooking but this Dutch oven got me in the kitchen more times since I got it from Nordstrom than entire previous 1/2 year. It has never been put away because I use it for almost any thing that need to cook - stir fry, deep fry, stew, bake … it can handle almost anything. A must have in any kitchen.

had been putting off buying a bigger dutch oven for years, and now regret i didn't purchase it sooner; have used this 3 times in the past week (since it arrived); le creuset is the standard for a good reason

Beautiful design, but terrible clean up

I love the design. It's even more beautiful in person than i expected!! I worked with someone in person to buy a new pots and pans collection. They told me how wonderful these are. I bought multiples. I'm very sad because EVERYTHING sticks to them. I was told nothing would if you use a little oil. Clean up is harder than any other pot i've ever had.
