Make a Dried Flower Ornament: Jenni Kayne
Jenni Kayne: How to Make Floral Ornaments
Pretty finishing touches make the holiday season brighter. LA-based lifestyle expert Jenni Kayne shares this simple yet stylish DIY ornament that you can add to your tree or to a gift for a floral flourish.
Clear plastic or glass ornaments (make sure you can easily open them to add the filling)
Greens and dried florals (Jenni uses brunia, eucalyptus, ironwood needles and dried strawflower)
- Cut greens and florals into small pieces that will fit in the ornaments.
- Open the ornaments one at a time and add the greens and flowers. Mix it up! Do some with a single varietal (one dried flower), others with greens and florals, and some with just greens and small pinecones. The best combinations are simple—one piece of seeded eucalyptus and one dried strawflower, one pinecone and one piece of seeded eucalyptus, three smaller pieces of eucalyptus and a few small pieces of brunia. Play around with combinations to find what you like!
- Cut a piece of twine and tie it through the top of the ornament. Knot the end.
- Hang the ornaments from your tree or add them to a gift.
