What happened?
In a review of Nordstrom credit card accounts, we identified that some cardmembers with delinquent accounts were charged higher interest in error. We sincerely apologize.
What caused this issue?
The issue was related to how we assessed higher interest charges on delinquent Nordstrom credit card accounts. The error was the result of system settings related to when higher pricing for delinquent accounts was applied.
How did you address this issue?
We’ve addressed this issue to ensure the problem doesn’t happen again and, where necessary, adjusted the interest rates on impacted accounts. We’re reaching out to impacted cardmembers to provide them with a credit or check for the overcharged amount.
Why am I hearing about this now?
We’ve assessed the impact to each account and are now communicating directly with cardmembers to provide them with a credit or check for the overcharged amount.
Does this issue affect my credit?
If any changes were made to credit reporting as a result of this error, that information has been included in your notification letter. We’re unable to advise how any change to your credit file might affect your credit score and encourage you to reach out to the credit bureaus if you have questions.
Does this mean I don’t need to pay my minimum payment due?
While this credit may have reduced your balance, it didn’t fulfill any minimum payment due—so be sure to pay at least that amount by the due date.
Can I still use my Nordstrom card?
This situation doesn’t change how you currently use your card.
